Mr. Stanley Henning::

Mr. Stanley E. Henning served as a China policy officer assigned to Headquarters, US Pacific Command from 1999-2004. From 1996-99, he was a member of the faculty at the Asia-Pacific Center For Security Studies. He taught English language and literature at Yunnan Normal University from 1995-96. Prior to this, he served 28 years in the U.S. Army in a wide variety of assignments that included overseas tours in Taiwan, Vietnam, Korea, Japan, and Hong Kong. He was an Army Foreign Area Officer, is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, and has written articles on Chinese defense strategy, language, and history. He is also an independent scholar recognized both in and outside China for his writings on Chinese martial arts history.  He holds a Masters degree in Overseas Operations from the University of Hawaii, through an East-West Center grant, and a Bachelor in History from The Virginia Military Institute.

All of the above mentioned books are good reading material and you might learn a little more about the style you study through them. Unfortunately, there is no definitive book written on Bei Shao Lin, so until then, have fun reading these great works!
